A Houston truck driver has filed a lawsuit against his employer for neglecting to maintain the truck properly, contributing to an accident.
According to the lawsuit, the trucking company US Food Service failed to maintain the truck. The driver had informed the company on numerous occasions of the need for repairs, but the company ignored these. On the day of the accident, the truck driver was driving on Interstate 10 in Orange County, when the truck began to shake and veered to the right. It struck a parked vehicle, and then flipped over.
The truck driver is now suing the company for medical expenses, lost wages and mental anguish.
It’s a much neglected fact that truckers are just as much at risk of accidents and injuries because of trucking company negligence, as motorists. Poor maintenance of 18-wheelers is linked to several accidents every year.
