Acupressure is an ancient form of healing that involves the use of the fingertips to apply specific pressure to certain areas of the body.  It is used to stimulate the body’s natural healing properties.  The study was conducted by researchers at the University Of Colorado.  The special treatment that was used here, called jin shin, used pressure from the fingertips to stimulate certain areas of the body.  The study involved a group of 38 subjects who were randomly split into an experimental group and a control group.  When the researchers examined the results, they found that the use of the treatment led to enhanced cognitive function.  According to the researchers, this indicates that acupressure can be used as an effective adjunct therapy for traumatic brain injury.

According to the researchers, the benefits of using acupressure as brain injury treatment are that it can be taught to family and friends of the patient.  However, the treatment may only work on mild traumatic brain injury.
