Is There Really a Link between Obesity and Auto Accident Injuries?
Tuesday, April 27th, 2010
Researchers have found a link between male obesity and upper body injuries that car accident lawyers will find very interesting. The group of researchers studied overweight men and women and the kind of injuries they suffered in motor vehicle accidents, and found that overweight adult men were more likely to suffer upper body injuries in an accident.
What the researchers did was analyze accident data across approximately 11,000 men and women. The data was analyzed based on the Body Mass index of each individual person in the study.
The results of the analysis were interesting to say the least. The researchers...
Toyota Investigation to Include NASA Scientists
Monday, April 19th, 2010
It’s hard to know who has seemed the most clueless about the causes for the sudden acceleration in Toyota cars - the automaker itself, or the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. We still have little information about what is causing the crash, but plenty of leads. The biggest leads seem to point to malfunctioning in electronics in Toyota vehicles.
Now, the federal administration has brought in scientists from NASA to help with the Toyota investigation. These engineers will join NHTSA investigators as they look for the reasons of crashes. The NASA engineers are expected to bring their substantial...

Why We Need Trial Lawyers: A Houston Injury Lawyer Explains
Friday, March 26th, 2010
The Wall Street Journal last week ran an opinion piece that enunciates clearly the important role trial lawyers play in ensuring the safety of the American consumer.
One voice has been deafeningly silent in all the commotion around the Toyota scandal-that of the tort reformer. With the failures of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration plain for all to see, even tort reformers would be hard-pressed to tag many of the accident lawsuits arising from Toyota acceleration crashes as “frivolous lawsuits.”
The American consumer has been let down time and time again by the federal safety agencies that have...
Acceleration Accident Complaints Continue to Pour in Post-Toyota Repairs
Monday, March 22nd, 2010
Not surprisingly to car accident lawyers in Houston, the repairs that automaker Toyota announced with great fanfare just a few weeks ago, may not be working as well as the company intended. Houston accident lawyers have been able to confirm that there are at least 60 complaints related to cars that were fixed by Toyota dealerships, in which the acceleration problem does not seem to have been fixed at all.
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration says it has received at least 10 complaints involving vehicles that were repaired, but continue to speed up...
Toyota Braces for Wrongful Death Lawsuits Linked to Defective Gas Pedals
Friday, March 12th, 2010
For Houston injury lawyers, watching Toyota’s reaction to the sudden acceleration problem in several of its vehicles, has been akin to watching a train wreck in slow motion. What has been obvious to personal injury lawyers in Houston and around Texas, seems to have escaped the world’s largest automaker for several months now..
Right from the time the death of four people in California in August was linked to a jammed gas pedal in a Toyota Lexus, the company has floundered badly, clutching at weak explanations for the problem, and devising half-baked measures to deal with the acceleration. Toyota...
