Medical Helicopter Safety in Question Again

After a relatively peaceful 2009, in which there were fewer fatalities in medical helicopter and air ambulance crashes, 2010 has taken Houston personal injury lawyers and federal safety officials by surprise. In 2009, only six people died in medical helicopter crashes.  Those deaths came after a deadly 2008 in which there were 28 fatalities in medical helicopter crashes.  Thus far in 2010, we have already seen 21 fatalities in medical helicopter crashes.  Last week’s helicopter crash in central Arkansas killed three people, including two flight medics and the pilot of the helicopter.  The helicopter was on its way...

Two Persons Killed in Medical Helicopter Crash in Ellis County, Texas

There has been yet another medical helicopter crash. This most recent one occurred in Midlothian in Ellis County, Texas. Two persons have been injured in the crash that involved a CareFlite medical helicopter on a maintenance flight. The two victims were the pilot and a mechanic. According to Midlothian police, the tail section of the helicopter came loose during the flight, and the helicopter went down in a ball of fire. Houston Injury Lawyers Have Questions after Fatal Helicopter Crash at Fort Bliss

The increasing number of crashes involving medical helicopters has been a great source of concern to personal injury lawyers in Houston and around Texas. In the latest such crash, three people were killed when their helicopter went down during a training exercise at Fort Bliss. According to the Houston Chronicle, the helicopter was about to land when it crashed at the McGregor Range.
