FDA Ire Over Inadequate Contact Lens Recall

The Food and Drug Administration is promising to take action unless the company that manufactures contact lenses linked to dozens of injuries, takes more steps to publicize a recall. The recall by CooperVision Inc. involves more than 600,000 Avaira Toric contact lenses, and was announced in August after reports of eye injuries by consumers.  Several customers have come forward to complain about eye injuries, including torn corneas, chronic and severe pain and a number of other serious injuries as a result of wearing contact lenses.  Some of these cases were reported back in April, but the recall was...
