Goodyear Recalls 41,000 Tires for Tread Separation after Texas Accident

Wednesday, February 29th, 2012

Tread separation is a major factor in several tire blowouts that cause serious accidents in Houston every year.  Goodyear Tires has announced a recall of tires manufactured in 2009.  The recall includes about 40,914 Wrangler Silent Armor fires. According to Goodyear, the recall is linked to a potential defect, which can cause the tread of the tire to separate from the rest of the tire under certain severe conditions.  Tire tread separation can ultimately lead to a tire blowout, which can make a vehicle difficult to control, possibly contributing to a rollover accident.  Rollovers are some of the most serious...

For years, auto accidents were the number one cause of preventable death for most Americans.  For the first time, that statistic no longer holds.  In 2009, more people were killed from the use and misuse of prescription drugs, than from automobile accidents. This increase in deaths caused by prescription drugs should not really come as a surprise to doctors, Houston personal injury lawyers or health agencies.  The number of prescription drugs being filled out every day for a variety of illnesses has increased across the country, and so also has abuse. Many of these prescription drug-related deaths...
