CPSC Takes Action to Keep Defective Products Out Of US Market

The Consumer Product Safety Commission has taken what is a huge step for the agency in its ongoing efforts to restore its shattered credibility, and prevent defective products manufactured overseas from entering the US. The agency has opened its first overseas office in China. Considering that China manufactures a majority of the products that are consumed in the US, a single office may not seem like much, but it is a firm step. Texas Tire Dealer Named in Wrongful Death Lawsuit

A tire dealer is named in a wrongful death lawsuit arising out of a fatal hydroplaning accident in Texas in 2009.  The victim had just purchased two new tires for the front of her Chrysler Sebring.  The rear tires remained worn out.  As she was driving during a rainstorm, she lost control of her car, and crashed into a school bus.
